Randell Johnson: "I can play everything"

LB Randell Johnson Conference Call

Saturday, May 10, 2014

Q: How does this feel? Seventh round but you get drafted, what is your reaction?

A: Man my dream came true. I'm going to live it up.

Q: Tell us a little bit about your game. What are some of your strengths?

A: My speed, my length, using my hands, getting to that quarterback and just making plays. I'm a playmaker. I'm going to bring that to the Buffalo Bills.

Q: Did you spend a lot of time rushing the pass and coverage? How did they use you?

A: They used me everywhere. They used me for blitzing, stopping the run, for coverage. In all types of schemes I was everywhere. I wasn't just a one-player person. I was all over the field.

Q: How familiar are you with The Bills and what their needs might be and with Buffalo?

A: To tell you the truth, I didn't expect this. I don't really know anything about Buffalo at all so I was surprised. I was just surprised Buffalo picked me up

Q: What were your expectations?

A: I've been talking to the Seahawks mostly the whole weekend and the 49ers and the Dolphins, so I was expecting them to call me.

Q: Did you have an idea of where you may go or were you thinking it might be a situation where you might sign as an undrafted guy?A: Yeah, I was projected like fifth to seventh round, so I was waiting on the seventh round and the sixth round. That was my little area, but I once I got the call I was just excited.

Q: You mentioned putting your hand into the dirt and playing outside; do you think you can play Mike as well?A: Mike? I can play everything. I played Mike in high school and I played Mike at FAU also when we ran our 4-2-5 defense. I'm available to play any position.
