Sean McDermott is already one of the best coaches in Bills' franchise history and quickly rising up the ranks in the NFL.

In five seasons, he has 49 wins which rank third behind Lou Saban (68) and Marv Levy (112). And around the league, he is one of four active coaches to lead his team to a playoff spot in at least the last three seasons, joining Andy Reid (7 straight), Matt LaFleur (3), and Mike Vrabel (3).

Colin Cowherd believes Sean McDermott is one of the best eight coaches in the NFL. On The Herd with Colin Cowherd, he discussed the coaches at the top of his list and what makes them special.

"To me, the eight great coaches in the NFL are Sean McDermott, Mike Vrabel, Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh, Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, Andy Reid and Bill Belichick," Cowherd said. "All of them have something we know to be true. … Sean McDermott, the best young defensive coach in football. …

"Sean McDermott is young, and I give him a lot of credit, why, because Sean McDermott and Buffalo got Tyrod Taylor to the playoffs. Was in a division with Bill Belichick and [Tom] Brady. Oversaw the development of a quarterback [Josh Allen] and created a great defensive front. He gets credit for all that."
