Following another round of votes, Buffalo Bills legend Steve Tasker has been named a semifinalist in the Seniors category for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

Tasker, who played for the Bills from 1986-97, is known for his elite play on special teams. His effect on the third phase of the game earned him five first-team All-Pro nods, seven trips to the Pro Bowl (six consecutive) and his name on the Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame.

During his time in the league, Tasker was loved by his teammates but feared by his opponents due to his hard-hitter mentality as a gunner. His style of play was so well known amongst the league that he became the only special teamer ever to be named the Pro Bowl's MVP in 1993.

The special teamer also took reps at wide receiver and in the return game but is most known for being a phenom at kick and punt coverage.

Tasker was drafted in the ninth round in 1985 and spent his first NFL season with the Houston Oilers before coming to Buffalo. His 204 career special teams tackles and seven blocked punts helped earn the Bills four straight Super Bowl appearances from 1991-94.

The others advancing as semifinalists are Ken Anderson, Roger Craig, Henry Ellard, L.C. Greenwood, Joe Jacoby, Eddie Meador, Stanley Morgan and Otis Taylor.

The Seniors Blue-Ribbon Committee voters will meet November 25 to discuss the three former players who will be finalists for the new class. Those names will be unveiled in early December.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2026 will be announced at "NFL Honors" in San Francisco in February and enshrined in August in Canton.
