The Bills have added a punter to the roster ahead of Week 5. The team announced it has signed P Mitch Wishnowsky to a one-year deal and placed P Cameron Johnston (foot/ankle) on injured reserve, sidelining him for a minimum of four games.

Wishnowsky, 33, is a Perth, Australia native who has carved out a seven-year NFL career with the last six coming with the San Francisco 49ers (2019-24). The 6-foot-2, 220-pound punter was a fourth-round draft pick by the 49ers in 2019 and boasts a career average of 45.6 yards per punt.

Wishnowsky missed the final eight games of the 2024 season with a back injury and was eventually let go by the 49ers in May. He briefly signed with the Commanders practice squad in early September while starter Tres Way dealt with an injury but was released after Way recovered.

The Aussie played collegiately at Santa Barbara City (2014-15) then transferred to Utah for three seasons where he earned first team All-Pac 12 in every season.

Wishnowsky will wear No. 19.
