1 - Looking back at Beane's first year as a GMYesterday marked the official one-year anniversary of Brandon Beane's hiring with the Buffalo Bills. About two weeks later was when Beane took over, and he made noise very early on. At least that's what Steve Tasker said on One Bills Live yesterday. 
"He might have been the most active general managers in his first year, ever, in Bills history," said Tasker.
Beane joined a Bills team that had not made the playoffs in 17 consecutive seasons, and began to move many players that Bills fans saw as answers to the drought. Before the regular season began for the Bills, Sammy Watkins, Ronald Darby and Reggie Ragland were all traded. At the same time, Beane was solving another problem at the same time.
"You know what I think is the most important thing Brandon Beane did in his first year, Steve? He started to clean up the Bills salary cap," said John Murphy. "They're going to be in good shape next year in free agency next March because they made some difficult moves with Brandon Beane."
For Murphy, the most impressive move he made during his first season as the Bills GM is trading Marcell Dareus to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Buffalo will still have a dead cap hit of $14M for Dareus this upcoming season, but after that he comes off of their books.
"That move signifies the biggest achievement for Brandon Beane, cleaning up the Bills salary cap," said Murphy. "It had to be done."
Looking to the future, the Bills may be able to make a splash next off season with the amount of money Beane has made available to his roster.
"It's 100 million bucks they're going to have, something like that, right? That's an unbelievable amount of money," said Tasker.
Beane and company will look to continue their success as he enters his second year as the Bills general manager.
2 - Predicting Allen's stats for next seasonThe Bills drafted Josh Allen two weeks ago with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Now, the question is when will he make his first start and what kind of numbers will he put up.
Cynthia Frelund, as part of her NFL segment, Game Theory, put together a few predictions into what she could see happening with the Bills rookie quarterback.
She first recognized that in college, Allen was more effective while scrambling outside the pocket instead of within it.
"[The Bills] can use that to their advantage and create a scheme that really works to benefit him," said Frelund.
The Bills do have A.J. McCarron however to hold down the fort in case Allen does not win the starting job this off season. That uncertainty made it difficult for Frelund to pinpoint how many games Allen might actually start next season. With what's known so far in consideration, Frelund projects that Allen will start six games.
"I have him earning 1,377 passing yards in those six games, and seven touchdowns and six interceptions," said Frelund.
With the Bills open competition at quarterback still yet to begin, it will be a while until we know where Allen starts off with the Bills.
3 - Which Bills rookie will have the biggest "instant impact?"With all the draft talk over, rookie talk is the new favorite topic when it comes to football fans. Which ones will become Pro Bowl performers? Which ones will be the future leaders of their team? Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports compiled a list of which rookies will make the biggest "instant impact" on each team's roster. For the Bills, it's linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.
Behind a bolstered defensive front with new pieces Star Lotulelei, Trent Murphy and Harrison Phillips -- the latter could've been the "instant impact" pick -- along with steady veterans like Kyle Williams and Jerry Hughes, Edmunds is going to spend much of his time roaming free at the second level, a scary proposition for opposing offenses. At nearly 6-foot-5 and 250-plus pounds, the former Virginia Tech star absolutely flies to the football and has the length and athleticism to cover out of the backfield. He's in line for the starting middle linebacker gig next to Matt Milano, another fine athlete who quietly turned in an impressive rookie campaign a season ago.
The Bills will look to their new hulking 20-year-old to become a future leader of their defense.
