One of Buffalo's most influential voices in the locker room isn't going anywhere. Linebacker Terrell Bernard has agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension which keeps him in Buffalo through 2029.

The middle linebacker was selected by his teammates as one of Buffalo's two captains for the 2024 season. Bernard finished his third NFL season with 104 tackles, two interceptions, five tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, one sack and three passes defensed.

The captain of the defense showed just how dependable he was during the 2024 season as he made multiple game-changing plays. During Buffalo's AFC Divisional game against Baltimore, Bernard forced a fumble with just under nine minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Buffalo's offense turned the takeaway into points as they kicked a field goal on the next drive to extend their lead to eight points, which helped seal the victory.

Bernard also had a game-sealing interception in Week 11 against Kansas City. In the fourth quarter with 1:17 left in the game, the Chiefs were closing in on Buffalo territory, but Bernard picked off Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on 4th and 13 to secure a Buffalo victory.

During his three seasons as a Bill, Bernard has started in 31 games and played in 46. The MLB has racked up 263 tackles, seven and a half sacks, 12 quarterback hits, five interceptions, 15 tackles for loss, eight passes defensed and four fumble recoveries so far in his NFL career.

His most productive season statistically came in 2023 when Bernard joined Greg Lloyd (PIT-1989), Richard Dent (CHI-1990) and Seth Joyner (PHI-1991) as the only players since 1982 to have at least six sacks, three interceptions and three fumble recoveries in one season.

The Baylor product was drafted by the Bills in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
