The Buffalo Bills re-signed defensive back Sam Franklin Jr. on Friday, Feb 27 on a three-year deal. Franklin Jr. was an unrestricted free agent heading into the offseason.
The defensive back logged 13 tackles over his first season as Bill. Buffalo signed Franklin Jr. to its practice squad on Aug. 27, 2025, and elevated him to the active roster on Sept. 4, 2025.
Prior to the Bills, he spent five seasons with the Panthers. Carolina initially signed Franklin Jr. as an undrafted free agent out of Temple. He registered 105 tackles, five passes defensed, three tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, one forced fumble, one sack and one interception as a Panther.
This is the third free agency signing Buffalo made. The team previously re-signed offensive lineman Alec Anderson and defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis.
