Friday injury report: Charles Clay questionable for Sunday

He has practiced all week on a limited basis as he tries to return from a hamstring injury that's forced him to miss the Bills last two games. On Friday, Charles Clay was designated as questionable for Sunday's game against Miami.

Following his first day of practice Wednesday since suffering the injury, Clay told Buffalobills.com that he felt good as the athletic training staff kept his participation limited all week.

"I've just got to be smart so I can avoid any setbacks," said Clay.

Between his injury and Josh Allen's elbow injury, the two have not been on the same field for almost two months. But Clay believes they'll be able to get back in sync fairly quick.

"It felt good based off of game plan stuff, there are some things we'll keep working through," he said. "I'll keep talking to (Josh) and communicating as much as I can. We talk so much about certain things, I think we see things a certain way. I think we'll be fine."

Clay is hoping to get the green light on Sunday to face his former team.

"I'm definitely anxious. It's been that way since I got hurt," he said. "Nobody likes being hurt or missing time. It'll be good to get back out there. I've been antsy on the sidelines. It's hard for me not to run out onto the field. I'm excited."

Miller out for Sunday
One starter who won't take the field Sunday is John Miller. Unable to practice all week, Miller was declared out for Week 13. Head coach Sean McDermott said it will either be Jeremiah Sirles or Vladimir Ducasse that steps in at right guard this week.

OUT
RG John Miller – oblique
QB Derek Anderson – concussion

QUESTIONABLE
TE Charles Clay – hamstring

The Dolphins look like they'll be without a pair of starters on offense. Leading receiver Danny Amendola is doubtful with a knee injury suffered in last week's game against Indianapolis. If he can't play, Kenny Stills is expected to move inside and fill Amendola's role in the slot.

Also doubtful is starting C Travis Swanson with an ankle injury. Though he was limited on Thursday, he did not practice Friday.

DOUBTFUL
WR Danny Amendola – knee
C Travis Swanson – ankle

QUESTIONABLE
TE A.J. Derby – foot/knee
WR Devante Parker - shoulder
