Buffalo Bills owner and team president Kim Pegula opens the latest episode of "Bills Pod Squad," presented by New York Lottery, with a piece of breaking news: a multi-year extension for general manager Brandon Beane.

Pegula expressed her belief in the stability brought on by Beane and coach Sean McDermott, who signed his own contract extension earlier this season, and discussed how Beane's wide breadth of knowledge has been an asset to the organization.

"It's not just one thing, but his overall understanding of the organization, our team needs," she said. "It's not just about scouting, it's not just about the cap, it's not just about the players on the team. I think he really does take the time to really understand how it all fits together."

Watch the full episode below for more of Pegula's comments on Beane. You can also listen on on iTunesSpotify, and Google Podcasts.

In the interview segment of the episode, Pegula and multimedia journalist Maddy Glab were joined by Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White. Here are three takeaways from their conversation.

1. He was unfamiliar with Buffalo before being drafted

White tells a story from his draft night about receiving the phone call informing him of his selection to the Bills while the TV still showed the Atlanta Falcons on the clock.

The Louisiana-born corner remembered his family assuming he was staying in the south. When they learned he was instead headed to Buffalo, there were more questions than answers.

"My mom and dad looked around like, 'Buffalo? What is that? Where is that?'" White said. "Once my agent told them it was in New York, they were like, 'Ooh, we get to go to New York City, get to shop."

White goes on to discuss the various ways he's grown to embrace Buffalo during the three and a half years since, from to his love for the fanbase to his Tre White Goalie Academy.

"I can't be in a better place that fits me as a person and fits my personality," he said. "I'm happy to be here, for sure."

2. He is a prankster in the locker room – and on the sidelines

White has become as well known for his affable, energetic personality as he is for his ability to lock down wide receivers. It's a trait he was born with, he tells Kim and Maddy.

"I believe when the good lord constructed Tre'Davious White, he just put something in me to try to light up the room and try to make the days of others around me," he said.

That extends, he said, to playing pranks on his fellow Bills. We'll let you listen to hear about the one he pulled on Sean McDermott on the sideline.

3. He picked up habits from Kyle Williams and Lorenzo Alexander

White recalls being the only rookie starter on defense when the 2017 season began and having to develop pro habits in a hurry as a result.

"As we're going through OTAs, practices, and camp, I'm terrified because we've got older guys on the team like Kyle, Jerry (Hughes), Lorenzo," he said. "So, I'm trying my best not to make any mistakes because I've seen how angry those guys get.

"… It was one of those things that pretty much helped me (learn), you have to be on your stuff because these guys, they're not going to take it easy on you. They're one the back end of their careers. They want to win. They're taking it seriously."
