Marshawn Lynch - Practice

Bills Running Back Marshawn Lynch

On the eagerness to play in his first NFL regular season game

First, I'm just excited.  This is my first one.  I've got my family coming out here to watch me and support me.  But I'm just coming out to do what I do every time I strap up on the field and that's give 100 percent at what I'm doing whether that's running, catching or blocking.

On playing against Travis Henry

I don't know too much about what Travis was doing here, but I'm the running back here now and that's all I can say about that.

On showing what his true abilities are now that the regular season is here

I was limited when playing in the preseason.  I didn't really get the feel of getting into game mode, really get my feet wet and really get it going.  When you get in the flow, when you're playing football, the flow of the game kind of takes over.  I didn't get that much playing time during the preseason to get that flow going through me.

On the confidence and excitement from a scheme standpoint

It's a great feeling being able to do some of the things that the offenses don't allow me to do as far as getting out one-on-one with some linebackers.  That's a running backs dream.  I'm really looking forward to it.

On the expectation of being surprised during the first game

I'm surprised everyday even out here at practice, mainly with picking up the blitzes.  You have to check one guy on one side of the field and then have to come all the way back for the guy you really have to pick up.  That is really surprising, but just the speed of the game.

On playing on third down

I have never been one to back down from a challenge.  You come in there and I'm going to do what I have to do to get that block.  That's the coach's decision if I'm in there on third down.  If I am, I'm going to block and if I'm not, Anthony (Thomas) will handle the job.

On people underestimating the Bills this season

People have their opinions, but the opinion that matters is the one inside of our locker room.

On his emotions leading up to the first game

Right now, with this being my first game and being announced the starter, it's one of the greatest feelings that I've had in a while.  Just to be in this position right now is a great feeling.

On making a first impression

That's right and I'm stepping to the plate.
