Wednesday injury report: DE Murphy optimistic he'll be ready Sunday

Bills DE Trent Murphy has been forced to watch from the sidelines the last three games due to a knee injury. This week he may finally be ready to return to the lineup.

"It's always tough when you have to watch everybody run around, but I knew we had after the bye week in mind (for a return) and kept my eyes on the prize to keep working," said Murphy. "I knew it was all for a purpose."

Murphy was listed on Wednesday's injury report as a limited participant. Coming off the bye week it's been three straight days in which the veteran defensive end has practiced in some capacity. Stacking days has him feeling confident that his knee has made good progress.

"(I'm feeling) much better," he said. "I'd much rather be out at practice with my guys than to be stuck in that training room."

It also has him feeling confident that he'll be in the lineup on Sunday.

"I'm good to go," said Murphy. "I'm taking it one day at a time, but they ain't keeping me out of this one."

Murphy's availability could be all the more important this week if fellow DE Shaq Lawson is unable to play Sunday. Lawson suffered an elbow injury late in Tuesday's practice and did not participate in Wednesday's session. Head coach Sean McDermott called him day to day.
