The Bills are adding more talent to their wide receiver room. Wide receiver and return specialist Deonte Harty has signed a two-year deal with the Bills.
Harty, formerly known as Deonte Harris, last played for the New Orleans Saints. The WR only played in four games last season due to a toe injury suffered in Week 5.Â
During his four years with the Saints, Harty's best season came in 2021 when he racked up 36 catches, 570 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The WR also had a career-high 29 kick returns for 690 yards that season.
In 2019, Harty made a splash in the return game, which led to being named first-team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler during his rookie season. The WR had 36 punt returns for 338 yards, which led the NFL that year and had one punt return touchdown. That season, Harty also had 24 kick returns for 644 yards.
Over his four seasons in the NFL, Harty has played in 40 games and started in four. He has totaled 64 receptions, 793 receiving yards and four touchdowns over that span. The specialist has amassed 77 punt returns for 752 yards and 75 kick returns for 1,907 yards.
Harty, 5-6 and 170 pounds, was picked up by the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2019 out of Assumption University. He is from Baltimore, Maryland.
