For the past 20 years I've been the full-time editorial cartoonist for The Buffalo News, my hometown newspaper. I began drawing weekly editorial cartoons for The Griffin at Canisius University (formerly Canisius College) in 2000, where I graduated summa cum laude from the All-College Honors Program with a degree in Computer Science, and minors in Mathematics and Studio Art. Growing up as a die-hard Bills fan, I've long incorporated sports cartoons into my work, beginning with my time on the college paper. After earning three national collegiate cartooning awards from my work at The Griffin, I landed an internship in the Graphics Department of The Buffalo News. At 22 years old, I became the staff cartoonist for The News in August of 2004, replacing Tom Toles who left for The Washington Post to succeed the legendary Herblock. Since then, my cartoons have become syndicated through Cagle Cartoons and have appeared in magazines, books and newspapers around the world, including The Washington Post, USA Today, The New York Times, Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, MAD magazine, and many other publications. Over the years I've had the good fortune to win many national awards for my work, including the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartoons. In 2022, I published an illustrated book on Buffalo culture, "You Know You're From Buffalo If…" and shortly after began creating murals around the city, including several of them on the Buffalo Bills.
