Legacy (Past and Present), 2026

Gold leaf, enamel paints, and abalone on glue chipped glass

Employing Victorian-era techniques, this gold leaf glass artwork was hand crafted to honor the past and future of the Buffalo Bills legacy. Featured in the gold coins along the bottom, Ralph Wilson Jr. within the old stadium, looks onward to the new stadium under Kim and Terry Pegula. Every part of the process is done in reverse, starting with the foreground, working toward the back. The process starts with physically altering the glass panel and sandblasting the areas to be glue chipped. Once clean of any aggregate, the glue is applied and as it dries, pieces of the glass panel pop off creating an organic pattern. Gold leaf and paint are then applied to ïŹnalize the work.

Thanks to Robert Rusch of Libby Projects for his assistance in making the piece, Chelsea Black of Five Points Framing for making the work pop, and Susanna for her love and support throughout the whole process.
