Each week during the High School Tackle Football season, the Buffalo Bills, in partnership with Legends Global Merchandise, will announce a Coach of the Week for Buffalo and Rochester based on the section committee selections. This program will recognize Buffalo and Rochester area coaches not only for their efforts on the field, but their personal and team accomplishments off the field. Coaches will be selected over the course of 11 weeks of the season. Each winner will receive a $1,000 grant for their program. At the conclusion of the season, a coach from both the Buffalo and Rochester Regions will be recognized as the Coach of the Year and will receive an additional $1,000 grant for their team.
Rob Pitzonka from Iroquois High School is the Week 4 Buffalo Bills and Legends Global Merchandise High School Tackle Football Coach of the Week for the Buffalo region. He led the Red Hawks to a 21-14 win over Lackawanna last week, which puts them at 3-1 overall and 3-0 in league games. Iroquois is in first place in the B-2 League. Coach Pitzonka's philosophy on coaching is to use the game of football as a vehicle to teach life lessons to build better young men through dedication to the classroom, sport and each other. They accomplish this through the acronym C.L.I.M.B., which embodies their core values.
C- Commitment
L- Little things
I- Intensity
M- Mental Toughness (responding to adversity, handling success)
B- Brotherhood
His favorite football memory is winning the section championship two seasons ago and being able to celebrating with his brother on the field, watching his players embrace, having his kids come on the field to share the moment, being congratulated by his high school coach and finally seeing his father end up with the section trophy in the stands celebrating with his community.
Jasson Jobson from Webster Thomas High School is the Week 4 Buffalo Bills and Legends Global Merchandise High School Tackle Football Coach of the Week for the Rochester region. The Titans beat their crosstown rival Webster Schroeder, for the first time in 10 years, last week by a score of 28-7. His coaching philosophy is to help his athletes grow up to be positive role models and teach them how to handle the tough moments in life. Coach Jobson uses the motto "get better every day," to instill his philosophy within the team culture. His favorite football memory is winning the Sectional Semifinals in 2012 against McQuaid.
