Keith Wing from Williamsville South is the Week 3 High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week for the Buffalo region. The Billies are off to a 6-0 start in the 2025 season under his guidance. Wing has been an integral part of growing Flag Football in the Buffalo community. The Williamsville South program priorities for the young ladies are in this order:
1.) Family
2.) Academics
3.) Athletics
Off the field, Wing's team annually volunteers at the Run Forest Run 5K which donates proceeds to the PUNT Foundation. His athletes also volunteer to read to students at Forest Elementary and Maple West Elementary in Williamsville. Coach Wing is also the Head Coach for the Villa Maria College Women's Flag Football team.
Matt Lapinski from Greece Arcadia is the Week 3 High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week for the Rochester region. Lapinski was selected due to the team's big win over Greece Athena as they defeated their rival 26-7. Greece Arcadia remains undefeated on the season at 5-0. Off the field, Lapinski's athletes volunteer at the Greece Central All-Star Day where they help run field event for students with disabilities. Lapinski's favorite football memory has been the overall transformation of flag football as he started coaching in the first year of the sport. "The difference between sitting in the meeting year 1 trying to teach kids the basics of football to now sitting at the top of our class, it's truly amazing. I'm so grateful for these young women who took a shot on us. They are the reason for this award. The work they've done deserves all the credit." Lapinski also serves on the Monroe County League Chair for Flag Football and is on the Section V Flag Football Committee.
Leave the past behind. Let's make girls flag football a varsity sport in all 50 states.
