Bills Today | Rookie playmakers earn praise from the quarterback

1. Rookie playmakers earn praise from the quarterback

Josh Allen had his best game as a pro in yesterday's win, breaking franchise records and putting up numbers that the Bills haven't seen in more than 15 years. With all that, the Bills seemed to struggle again in the third quarter, only running eight offensive plays and punting twice. That led to the Bills trailing the Dolphins 20-17 with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Allen talked about his mindset during that time and how he led the team on two straight 70-plus yard touchdown drives to seal the game.

"Yeah, there was no panic," Allen explained. "It was just a, 'Let's go we got to get six.' We had to go put points up for our defense now and again our guys were cool, calm and collected and we just kind of went out there and did our jobs and that's really what it comes down to – executing when our name is called, and we had a bunch of guys go through that [on Sunday]."

Allen was also quick to give credit to Buffalo's rookie receivers – wide receiver Gabe Davis and tight end Reggie Gilliam – who both caught touchdown passes on Sunday.

"A bunch of guys got open, they caught the ball when they needed to and again, I said it once before, but you got to give credit to Gabe Davis and Reggie (Gilliam) for making plays," Allen said. "Reggie being an undrafted guy and to come in there and do that and make a play at the goal line and catch a ball there, that's huge. And again, it gives the offense juice. We love seeing guys who are underdogs score. That's a guy who's worked his tail off and he deserves to be here."

2. Dealing with the lightening delay

In yesterday's win against the Dolphins, there was a lightning delay at the beginning of the third quarter. Both teams went back into their locker rooms and stayed there for another thirty minutes. Devin Singletary was asked if that had happened to him in a game before and explained his mindset during that time.

"It hasn't happened to me in the [NFL] but it happened to me plenty of times growing up in Florida," Singletary said. "It's definitely challenging, you're trying to stay warm, and you don't really know how much time it's going to be. It could be 30 [minutes] you just don't know, so you just got to stay locked in and try your best to stay warm. That's the biggest thing and then come out with that same juice."

3. Buffalo Bills fantasy impact
