Bills head coach Sean McDermott appeared on WGR550 Friday morning and has ruled out DT DaQuan Jones (calf), WR Joshua Palmer (knee/ankle) and LB Shaq Thompson (hamstring) for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jones was the lone player who did not practice this week. He will miss a third straight game due to the calf injury.

Palmer did not practice on Wednesday and was a limited participant for Thursday's practice. Thompson was limited for Wednesday's practice but did not participate in Thursday's practice.

"I think it was lingering a little bit," McDermott said of Thompson's hamstring injury on WGR. "Thought it had gone away and then it resurfaced a little bit at the start of practice there."

Prater was limited for Wednesday and Thursday's practices due to a right calf issue.

"I think he's going to be fine," McDermott said of his status. "Never want to say there's a guarantee with that but think he's heading in the right direction. We'll just take it through the rest of the day today and see how he does."

WR Gabe Davis returned from IR to the practice squad this week. Davis practiced on Wednesday and Thursday but will not practice on Friday.

"I thought he thought he looked good, did some good things," McDermott said. "He won't practice today, more than likely, a little bit of inflammation coming off yesterday's practice. So, he'll be out today, and we'll see where he goes from there."

McDermott also provided an update on S Taylor Rapp who just got surgery on his knee. The head coach said he probably won't return until next season.

"He had surgery two days ago or a day ago," McDermott said. "I'm not a doctor, but from what I'm hearing, it's probably not till next year at this point."

Post-practice update: DB Taron Johnson was limited with a groin injury and is questionable
