The NFL has announced that the Week 18 matchup between the Buffalo Bills (12-3) and New England Patriots (8-8) will kick off at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8 at Highmark Stadium. The game will be broadcast on CBS.Â
The regular season finale is set to feature high stakes for both teams as the Bills are still looking to lock up the No. 1 seed in the AFC while the Patriots need to win in order to secure a Wild Card berth.
Buffalo can clinch the 1-seed and homefield advantage with wins over the Bengals and Patriots in the final two weeks of the regular season.Â
The Patriots got a 23-21 victory over the Dolphins (8-8) on Sunday and overtook Miami for the 7th seed (final Wild Card spot) in the AFC Playoff race. A win at Buffalo would guarantee them of a Wild Card berth.Â
A Bills win next week over the Patriots would end New England's playoff hopes unless the Steelers, Dolphins and Titans all lose in Week 18.
