Friday injury report: Isaiah McKenzie questionable, but expects to be ready for Sunday

Wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie played a quality supporting role in the first meeting with the Jets. Fortunately, he's confident he'll be available to contribute again this Sunday.

The speedy wideout was slowed this week by a toe injury that cropped up on Thursday when he was limited in practice. He was again limited on Friday and listed as questionable, but McKenzie is confident he'll be able to play on Sunday.

"I got upset when the toe first grabbed on me at practice Thursday," McKenzie said. "I threw my helmet because I was already thinking about Sunday. But I was able to practice (Friday) and I expect to be good for this weekend."

McKenzie made his first appearance for the Bills back in Week 10 against the Jets, after the team picked him up off waivers from Denver that week. He averaged more than 10 yards a punt return against the Jets including a long of 21 yards. McKenzie also provided 46 yards of offense on four touches despite lining up on offense for just seven plays.

Buffalo's offense and special teams are hoping he can do even more in the rematch with New York on Sunday.

If for some reason McKenzie cannot go on Sunday, rookie Ray-Ray McCloud figures to fill McKenzie's role.

Another offensive player ready to return to the lineup is starting RG John Miller. Miller practiced fully on Thursday and Friday in his return from an abdominal strain and is expected to start on Sunday.

"He looks like he's going to be able to go. He's had some good days this week," said head coach Sean McDermott.

Rookie nickel CB Taron Johnson underwent shoulder surgery this week and is out. Rafael Bush and possibly recent practice squad call-up Denzel Rice will spell Johnson this week.

OUT CB Taron Johnson – shoulder
QB Derek Anderson – concussion

DOUBTFUL TE Jason Croom – groin
QUESTIONABLE WR Isaiah McKenzie – toe

The Jets could be without their starting running back Isaiah Crowell. Crowell is questionable with a toe injury that kept him out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday. He was able to practice on a limited basis Friday.

WR Robby Anderson and CB Buster Skrine are also questionable for Sunday.

QUESTIONABLE
WR Robby Anderson - ankle
CB Buster Skrine - shoulder/hip
RB Isaiah Crowell - toe
TE Jordan Leggett - knee
