Snow shovelers for Highmark Stadium asked to abide by travel ban

SB_012524-07

UPDATED STORY (Jan. 14, 10 p.m.) — The County and State are authorizing individuals to travel to the stadium to assist in snow removal starting at midnight. Here's how you can join.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – With the weather forecast updates and the travel bans that are now in place, snow shovelers are being asked to abide by travel bans and not report to Highmark Stadium until further notice once the bans are lifted.

More information will be shared regarding report times once the weather improves and bans are lifted.

There will eventually be multiple shifts available for snow shovelers to work and be part of the team to get the venue ready for the hometown Bills Wildcard Playoff game vs. the Steelers.

  • Shovelers should abide by travel bans.
  • The rate of pay will be $20 per hour.
  • Complimentary food and breaks will be provided throughout the shifts in a comfortable warm area.
  • Those interested in shoveling must have proper photo identification (driver's license, state ID) to work.

Prospective snow shovelers are asked to dress appropriately for the weather (gloves, scarves, hats, coats, etc.) and to bring their own shovels, if possible, (shovels will be provided if you do not have one).

Once the travel bans are lifted, shovelers may enter and park in Lot 6 off Abbott Road just north of the Team Store and proceed to the Jani-King office trailer at the bottom of the steps to register for work. All shovelers are encouraged to click the link below to pre-register, save time, and ensure all information is accurate.
